Ibn Ali Miller was walking in his neighborhood when a nasty fight broke out between two young men. Rather than walking away or joining the laughing crowd, he intervened and challenged the fighters to act like “men,” to be mature in how they handle their differences. The video went viral.

Later when he was honored for his peacemaking in the streets by Atlantic City, he in turn honored is mother who taught him to walk in the right way. When he did wrong she punished him—by making him read! Definitely one of the most transformative punishments I’ve ever heard of!
