This is a quick and fun tool to introduce the topic of listening. People silently and with their eyes closed fold and tear a sheet of paper following the instructions of the facilitator. When people open their eyes and unfold their papers they discover that many of the papers look very different from each other even though everyone heard the same instructions.
“4 Sheets to the Wind” can be the experience to get into an elicitive list and discussion of what makes for good listening and good communication.
